AKRITI took its first step toward banishing hunger through its Mid Day Meal Programme. In an effort to eradicate hunger and malnutrition, the NGO has partnered with Central and State Governments under the centrally sponsored Mid Day Meal Scheme, supported by corporate donations.
We operate several semi-automated kitchens across India, where our dedicated staff prepare and deliver nutritious meals to underprivileged schoolchildren every day. These kitchens ensure safety, hygiene, and consistency in food quality and quantity.
Why AKRITI Implements the MDM Scheme:
- ✔ Childhood deprivation has long-term effects on wellbeing and opportunity.
- ✔ Many children lack access to basic nutrition and development support.
- ✔ Families often lack the means to nurture and support growing children.
- ✔ The MDM program helps bridge this gap through structured food delivery systems.
- ✔ Our approach is bottom-up — from school, to district, to state — ensuring deep reach.
We have successfully implemented the MDM Scheme in the states of Rajasthan, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, reaching thousands of children every day and positively impacting their health, education, and growth.
